Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully address the task. While you have attempted to identify some trends, the report is fragmented and lacks a clear overview of the main features. Several statements are factually confusing or contradictory, such as claiming participation remained the same in 2002 and 2020 while also noting dramatic changes. To improve, you must provide a clear summary of the overall trends and ensure that all data points are accurately described and compared rather than just listed in isolation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a logical flow. Paragraphs are short and disjointed, and the connection between sentences is often weak or confusing. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes misused, such as the awkward transition 'As well as, the amount of participants was remained same'. The structure does not facilitate a clear progression of ideas. To improve, focus on using transition words like 'however', 'in contrast', or 'meanwhile' to link related ideas and ensure each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and word form, such as 'participates' instead of 'participants' and 'all kind of activities aspects'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe trends accurately; for example, using 'increased' or 'remained same' repeatedly without variation. To reach a higher band, you should learn specific collocations for describing graphs, such as 'a significant rise', 'remained stable', or 'fluctuated', and ensure you are using the correct parts of speech.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include incorrect verb tenses and passive voice constructions, such as 'the number of participants was increased' (should be 'increased') and 'participation was fall' (should be 'fell'). Sentence structures are simple and often contain errors in basic syntax. To improve, focus on mastering the difference between active and passive voice and ensure subject-verb agreement. Practicing the construction of complex sentences will also help you demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control.
