Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered all categories (film club, table tennis, amateur dramatics, musical performances, and martial arts) and made relevant comparisons, such as noting the contrast between the growth of table tennis and the decline of amateur dramatics. The inclusion of specific data points helps support your summary effectively. To reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are fully integrated; for instance, you could explicitly contrast the popularity of the film club with the lower participation rates of other activities more consistently throughout the report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs that group information effectively. You use cohesive devices such as 'By contrast', 'Although', and 'whereas' to link ideas. However, there is a significant error in the final paragraph where you repeated an entire sentence about musical performances verbatim. This repetition disrupts the flow and indicates a lack of careful proofreading. While the overall progression is clear, this mechanical error prevents a higher score in this criterion. Ensure you review your work to remove redundant or repeated information before finalizing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey information with precision, using terms like 'commencement', 'fluctuating', and 'surged'. There are some minor issues with word choice, such as 'participators' (the standard term is 'participants') and 'declined number of participants' (a more natural phrasing would be 'a decline in the number of participants'). Despite these minor inaccuracies, the vocabulary is adequate for the task and allows for clear communication. To improve, focus on more natural collocations and ensure you use the correct noun forms for people involved in activities.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You show a good command of complex sentence structures, such as using subordinate clauses beginning with 'Although' and 'before reaching'. Most of your sentences are error-free, and your control of tense is generally accurate for describing past data. There are a few minor slips, such as 'started being attended 5 years after the commencement of all the other activities', which is slightly clunky. However, these errors do not impede communication. The grammar is generally strong, and you demonstrate the ability to use a variety of structures effectively to report the data.
