Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all five activities and identifies key trends. However, the overview is weak; it lacks a clear summary of the most significant trends, such as the overall dominance of the Film club or the contrasting trajectories of Table tennis and Amateur dramatics. The description of the martial arts pattern is slightly inaccurate, as it does not strictly repeat every five years, and the report lacks precise data points in some areas. To reach a higher band, ensure the overview highlights the most striking differences and similarities rather than just stating that changes occurred.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt, and the overview is not clearly separated from the introduction. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the flow feel a bit disjointed. Improving the use of transition signals (e.g., 'In contrast', 'Conversely', 'Furthermore') would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing for clear communication. There are some attempts at using topic-specific vocabulary like 'participants' and 'growth', but the range is somewhat limited. There are also minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the most number of individuals' (should be 'the highest number') and 'deminishes' (spelling error: 'diminishes'). To improve, try to incorporate more varied synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' and ensure accurate usage of comparative structures.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader, such as 'The musical performances was started' (subject-verb agreement) and 'reached at the lowest' (incorrect preposition). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly in the opening paragraphs. While the meaning is generally clear, the control over complex structures is not consistent enough for a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
