Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response effectively covers all requirements of the task. You have identified the main trends and provided relevant data points to support your descriptions. The overview is clear and highlights the most significant movements, such as the popularity of the Film club and the contrasting trends of Table tennis and Amateur dramatics. You have successfully made comparisons between the activities, which is a key requirement for this task. The information is accurate and well-selected, ensuring the reader gets a clear picture of the data provided in the graph. No significant information is omitted, and the response is well-focused throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs that group the information effectively. The progression of ideas is smooth, and you have used a variety of cohesive devices such as 'Conversely', 'In contrast', and 'Meanwhile' to link your points. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different trends. While the flow is generally good, some transitions could be slightly more sophisticated to reach the highest band, but the current structure is clear and easy to follow throughout the entire report.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the data accurately. Phrases like 'dramatic growth', 'sharpest drop', and 'low base' demonstrate a good command of descriptive language. There are some minor issues with word choice, such as 'The plot depicts the data of people' (which is slightly unnatural) and 'the ratio of partakers is varying' (where 'number of participants' would be more precise). However, these errors do not impede communication. You have successfully avoided repetitive language and used a range of terms appropriate for describing trends and changes in data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response shows a good mix of simple and complex sentence structures. You have demonstrated control over tense usage, particularly when describing past trends and current states. There are a few minor grammatical slips, such as 'during the year of 2000 to 2020' (should be 'between 2000 and 2020') and 'Martial arts began at around 32 members experienced a rise' (which lacks a conjunction or relative pronoun). Despite these occasional errors, the majority of your sentences are error-free, and your punctuation is generally accurate. The grammatical control is sufficient to maintain clarity throughout the report.
