Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all key features of the graph, including the trends for all five activities. You successfully identified the main trends, such as the popularity of the film club and the sharp rise in table tennis. However, the overview is slightly underdeveloped; while you mention the film club remains popular, you could have provided a more comprehensive summary of the overall shifts in the data. Additionally, some data points are slightly imprecise, such as stating 'above from 50' instead of specifying the final figures more clearly. To improve, ensure that all trends are supported by accurate data points throughout the report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices like 'In contrast', 'Meanwhile', and 'Consequently' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly forced. The referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression within the second body paragraph is a bit disjointed due to the way the data for different activities is grouped. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuated', 'steadily', and 'substantial decrease'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'had smaller participants' (should be 'fewer participants') and 'the immense increase in the members had show' (should be 'was shown'). These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the precision of your report. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing like 'period of time'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'the film club remain popular' (subject-verb agreement), 'had show' (incorrect verb tense), and 'reached at its lowest' (unnecessary preposition). While these errors rarely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring they are error-free will help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.
