Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview. You covered all categories and made relevant comparisons. However, there are some inaccuracies in data reporting. For example, you stated the Film club 'marginally recovered by 65 participants' at the end, but the graph shows it ended at 65, not that it increased by that amount. Similarly, your description of Table tennis growth is slightly confusing regarding the specific figures. To reach a higher band, ensure that the data points are interpreted precisely and that the 'main features' are highlighted more distinctly in the overview rather than just listing data in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organised into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs for specific data, and an overall summary. You use some cohesive devices such as 'While', 'On the other hand', and 'Finally' to link ideas. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive (e.g., repeating 'participants' frequently). The use of linking words is generally effective, but the flow could be improved by varying the sentence structure to connect the data points more fluidly rather than listing them one by one.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'competitors', 'fluctuated', 'steadily rose', and 'substantially grew'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'showed up with' (which is informal) and 'in the beginning of the class' (the graph refers to a social centre, not a single class). While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the phrasing is occasionally slightly unnatural. Expanding your range of reporting verbs and nouns would help improve the precision of your descriptions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'Film club was the most popular activity starting with 65 participants and gradually decreased in the middle of the classes but by the end of the period marginally recovered by 65 participants', which is structurally awkward and factually confusing. Another example is 'Musical performances started with zero members in 2000 to 2005', which is slightly imprecise. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and clearer prepositional usage.
