Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered all categories (film club, martial arts, amateur dramatics, table tennis, and musical performances) and made relevant comparisons. However, the description of the data is occasionally imprecise, such as stating martial arts 'fluctuated' without specifying the range or key turning points. Additionally, the final sentence regarding musical performances is confusing because it lacks a clear subject or reference to the specific activity name, making it difficult to follow the data progression. To improve, ensure every trend is clearly linked to the specific activity and provide more precise data points to support your observations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'however' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the final paragraph where the transition between table tennis and the final activity is abrupt. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the flow between sentences could be improved by varying the structure of your cohesive links rather than relying on simple sentence-initial connectors.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuated', 'declined', and 'skyrocketed'. However, there are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'figures of those that took part' and 'had about a number of 38 participants', which are repetitive and slightly unnatural. There is also a spelling error ('martal arts') and a punctuation error ('Additionally ,table'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding wordy, repetitive phrasing when describing numerical data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as '27 individual that took part' (should be plural 'individuals') and 'through out' (should be one word 'throughout'). Some sentences are comma-spliced, such as '65 individuals took part in film club, this figure remained unchanged'. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring subject-verb agreement and correct punctuation would significantly improve your score. Focus on proofreading to eliminate minor errors that occur when attempting more complex sentence constructions.
