Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features and trends. You successfully highlight the stability of the film club and martial arts, as well as the significant changes in other categories. However, the report could be improved by providing more precise data points and ensuring all categories are accurately described. For instance, you mention 'amateur gymnastics' in the final paragraph, but the graph labels this as 'amateur dramatics', which is a minor inaccuracy. Additionally, the overview could be more analytical by grouping the activities based on their trends rather than just listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. The use of cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'However', 'On one hand', and 'In contrast' helps to guide the reader through the information. While the progression is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The referencing is mostly effective, though the connection between the overview and the body paragraphs could be smoother to ensure a more cohesive flow of ideas throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'illustrates', 'stable', 'decline', and 'incline'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'quantity of attendees' (number of participants is more natural) and 'massive changes' (a bit informal). You also misidentified 'amateur dramatics' as 'amateur gymnastics'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations and ensure that technical terms from the graph are transcribed accurately. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'film club and martial arts has' should be 'have') and minor punctuation or preposition errors (e.g., 'going back at 65' should be 'going back to 65'). While these errors are present, they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on consistent subject-verb agreement and refining the use of prepositions when describing trends and data points.
