Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all key features of the graph, including the trends for each activity. You successfully identified the main trends, such as the dramatic rise in table tennis and the decline in drama. However, the overview is slightly weak; while you mention musical performances started after 2005, a more comprehensive overview would summarize the most significant overall trends across all categories. The data is generally accurate, though the description of the film club and martial arts as 'almost same' could be more precise by referencing specific data points to support these observations. Overall, you have addressed the task requirements well.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Overall' and 'Similar to that', to link ideas. However, the progression between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the paragraphing could be improved by grouping activities with similar trends together rather than listing them individually. Referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the overview and the body paragraphs could be smoother to enhance the flow of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'drastically', 'consistent', and 'fluctuations'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'rosed drastically' (should be 'rose') and 'achieved the same number as of starting'. Additionally, some phrasing is repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'participants' and 'number'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more varied synonyms for trends and data points to show greater flexibility and precision in your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'musical performances were started' (passive voice error), 'almost same' (missing article 'the'), and 'fell all of sudden' (missing article 'a'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Improving your control over these basic structures will help ensure that your more complex sentences are error-free.
