Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which severely impacts the ability to fully address the task. Because the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, it fails to provide a comprehensive overview or report on all the main features of the graph. The summary of trends is fragmented and lacks the necessary detail to reach a higher band. To improve, you must ensure you complete the full analysis of all data points and meet the minimum word count to allow for a full development of the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response shows a basic attempt at paragraphing, but the lack of completion makes it difficult to assess the overall logical flow. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and repetitive way, such as the frequent use of 'after 2010'. The transition between the introduction and the body is abrupt, and the lack of a concluding summary or a fully developed body paragraph hinders the progression of ideas. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words to connect your sentences and ensure each paragraph has a clear, unified focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on basic verbs like 'rose' and 'declined' throughout the text. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'participants were more active on Film club' (should be 'in the Film club') and 'it got rose' (which is grammatically incorrect). To achieve a higher band, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', or 'remained stable', and ensure that your word choices are contextually appropriate for a formal report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. Examples include 'table tennis has rose' (should be 'has risen'), 'Martial arts was fluctuated' (should be 'fluctuated'), and 'people stated participating' (likely meant 'started'). The sentence structures are simple and often contain errors in tense and verb formation. The response also ends abruptly, leaving an incomplete sentence. To improve, focus on mastering basic verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, and practice constructing more complex sentences using accurate subordinating conjunctions.
