Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all the main features of the graph, including the trends for each activity. However, the overview is slightly inaccurate; for example, stating that 'Film club and Martial arts remained almost consistent' is a reasonable summary, but the description of the other activities lacks precision. The data reporting is generally accurate, but there is a lack of clear comparison between the categories. To improve, you should focus on grouping the activities by their trends (e.g., those that increased versus those that declined) rather than listing them individually. This would provide a more analytical summary rather than just a chronological description of the data points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, such as 'Table tennis is similar as amateur its almost remained same'. The transition between sentences is often abrupt, and the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother. While the overall structure is clear, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive sentence structure hinder the flow of the text. Using a wider variety of transition signals would help connect ideas more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic verbs like 'grew', 'increased', and 'remained', and there are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'various individuals for distinct activities' and 'its up to 36'. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'society grown' instead of 'participation grew'. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary related to trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'stabilised', or 'a significant decline', and ensure that nouns and verbs are used in the correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'Table tennis tasks was saw a dramatic change' (incorrect verb tense and subject-verb agreement) and 'its saw a dropping' (incorrect pronoun and noun usage). There are also issues with prepositions and articles throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage is essential.
