Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully identified the main features of the graph, including the overall trends and key data points. The overview is clear and highlights the most significant movements, such as the dominance of the Film club and the growth of Table tennis. You have made relevant comparisons throughout the report, which is essential for a high score. The data is accurately reported, and the structure allows for a logical progression of information. To improve further, ensure that all data points are described with precision and that you avoid minor inaccuracies in reporting, such as the slight confusion regarding the start dates of certain activities. Overall, this is a very strong response that fully addresses the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The response is well-organized, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs that group information logically by activity. You have used a range of cohesive devices effectively, such as 'Conversely', 'However', and 'subsequent decade', which help to guide the reader through the data. The paragraphing is appropriate, and there is a clear progression of ideas throughout the text. The use of referencing is generally accurate, ensuring that the relationships between the different activities are easy to follow. The flow of the report is smooth, and the information is presented in a way that is easy to digest.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have demonstrated a good range of vocabulary, using terms like 'skyrocketing', 'explosive surge', and 'continuous downfall' to describe trends effectively. This shows an ability to use less common lexical items with some awareness of style. There are a few minor errors, such as 'most participated activity' (should be 'most popular activity') and 'dip yo' (a typo), but these do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, focus on more precise collocations and ensure that your word choices are consistently natural and accurate in an academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You have used a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There is good control over grammar, and the majority of your sentences are error-free. However, there are a few minor slips, such as 'skyrocketing to became' (should be 'skyrocketing to become') and 'close at 5' (should be 'closed at 5'). These are non-systematic errors that do not affect the clarity of your report. Your use of punctuation is generally correct, and the overall grammatical control is strong enough to support the clear communication of the data.
