Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the graph, such as the dominance of the film club and the stability of martial arts. However, the reporting is often inaccurate or confusing. For example, the description of amateur dramatics as 'significantly fell down' is unclear, and the claim that musical performance was 'not much interested to included' is awkward and imprecise. The overview is present but lacks clarity, and some data points are misinterpreted or poorly described. To improve, focus on accurately identifying the trends (e.g., upward, downward, or fluctuating) and ensuring the data points cited are clearly linked to the correct years and activities.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or incorrect, such as the misuse of 'Therefore' and 'Subsequently' to link unrelated ideas. Referencing is also problematic; for instance, 'the only was grew slowly' is grammatically unclear and disrupts the flow of information. While there is a basic logical progression, the lack of precise linking words and the frequent grammatical errors make the text difficult to follow at times. Improving the variety and accuracy of transition signals would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often used incorrectly, which hinders the clarity of the report. Phrases like 'not much interested to included' and 'slighted fell' demonstrate a lack of control over word choice and collocation. There is also a tendency to use basic vocabulary, such as 'amount of participants' (should be 'number of') and 'grew slowly'. To reach a higher band, you need to use more precise terminology for describing trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained constant', or 'experienced a sharp decline', and ensure that your word forms are accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with verb tenses (e.g., 'Martial arts was remained stable'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure (e.g., 'the only was grew slowly'). Many sentences are fragmented or lack the necessary articles and prepositions to be grammatically sound. While there is an attempt to use a variety of structures, the high frequency of errors makes the writing difficult to read. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like tense consistency would be a beneficial next step.
