Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified some main features, such as the dominance of the Film club and the starting figures in 2000, the analysis is incomplete. You have not provided a comprehensive overview of the trends over the full 20-year period, and the description of the data is fragmented. To improve, ensure you cover all categories mentioned in the graph and provide a clear, analytical summary of the trends rather than just listing individual data points. The response is currently too brief to fully address the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a logical structure. While there is an attempt at an introduction and an overview, the body paragraphs are poorly developed and lack clear transitions between ideas. The use of cohesive devices is minimal and often mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'whereas' and 'starts from'. Paragraphing is not used effectively to separate the overview from the supporting details. To improve, focus on grouping related data together—for example, comparing activities that increased versus those that declined—and use a wider variety of linking words to guide the reader through your analysis.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'number of participants' and 'starts from', which hinders the sophistication of the report. There are also errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'insresed' instead of 'increased' and 'other's activity' which is grammatically incorrect. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary related to trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a sharp decline', and ensure that you use nouns and verbs accurately to describe the data trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'participants... is dominating' and 'the film club number of participants are'. Additionally, sentence structures are simple and often fragmented, such as 'the table tennis was rapidly insresed'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and semicolons. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the correct use of tense when describing past data.
