Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers all key features of the graph, including the trends for all activities. You successfully identified the main trends and made relevant comparisons, such as noting the decline in drama and the growth in table tennis. However, there are some inaccuracies in the data reporting; for instance, you mentioned music started at 0 in 2005, but the graph shows it starting at 0 in 2000. Additionally, the overview is slightly disjointed and contains a factual error regarding the drama activity being the lowest at the start, when the graph shows music was lower. Improving the precision of data extraction would elevate your score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'Overall', 'Similarly', and 'By contrast' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and punctuation errors, such as the list '20,15,5' and the run-on sentence structure in the second paragraph. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall progression of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'experienced a peak', 'constant growth', and 'rose steadily'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'conducting various activities in capital of Australia' (which is factually incorrect as Melbourne is not the capital) and 'up and downs'. Some phrasing is repetitive, and the lack of articles (e.g., 'in Film club') occasionally affects the naturalness of the writing. Expanding your range of collocations would help you achieve a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the drama activity is rose' (incorrect verb tense/passive voice usage) and 'remained same till 2010'. There are also issues with comma placement and missing articles throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher level of grammatical control.
