Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response identifies some main features, but the analysis is inconsistent and contains factual inaccuracies regarding the data provided. For instance, the prompt specifies a period ending in 2020, yet you repeatedly refer to 2022, which is not present in the graph. While you attempt to cover the different activities, the lack of precision in reporting the data points and the inclusion of non-existent years significantly impacts the clarity of the summary. To improve, ensure you strictly adhere to the provided data and focus on highlighting clear trends and comparative peaks rather than listing individual points in a fragmented manner.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is organized into a single paragraph, which lacks the necessary structure for a clear report. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'However' and 'Nevertheless', these are often used incorrectly or repetitively, creating a mechanical flow. The progression of ideas is disjointed, as the transition between different activities is abrupt. To achieve a higher band, you should group related information into distinct paragraphs (e.g., an overview, followed by two body paragraphs) and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your observations more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic phrases like 'remained same' or 'seen a great decline'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'got a great acceptance' and 'amature dramas' (spelling error). While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precise, academic vocabulary prevents a higher score. You should aim to incorporate more varied verbs and nouns to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a significant downturn', and ensure accurate spelling of key terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. There are consistent issues with article usage (e.g., 'number of participants involved in various activities'), subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some seen decline'), and tense consistency. The sentence structures are relatively simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly the correct use of articles and verb tenses when describing past data, and proofread carefully to eliminate minor slips.
