Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all key features of the graph, including the overall trends and specific data points for the various activities. You successfully identified the most popular activity (film club) and the lowest (musical performances). However, the description of the data is occasionally imprecise, such as the statement that martial arts (referred to as 'material arts') had the 'same' starting and ending point, when the graph shows slight variations. Additionally, the description of the amateur dramatics trend is slightly confusing regarding the timeline. To reach a higher band, ensure that data points are reported with greater accuracy and that comparisons between categories are more clearly articulated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on specific trends. Cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'while', and 'Additionally' are used to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'showed a opposite pattern at end of the period' and 'while remained the popular figure'. The use of referencing is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the description of the film club and martial arts could be smoother. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuation', 'considerable decline', and 'rocketed'. However, there are several instances of word choice errors and inaccuracies, such as 'material arts' instead of 'martial arts', 'minimally dip' instead of 'minimal dip', and 'the popular figure' instead of 'the most popular activity'. These errors occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on using collocations correctly and ensuring that your vocabulary is precise enough to describe statistical trends without ambiguity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('at social club'), incorrect preposition usage ('at end of the period'), and tense inconsistencies. For example, 'while remained the popular figure' lacks a subject, and 'roughly same' should be 'roughly the same'. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points. To achieve a higher score, you should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
