Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all key features of the graph, including the overall trends and specific data points. You have successfully identified the most popular activity (film club) and the least popular (musical performances). However, the description of amateur dramatics is slightly confusing; you mention it 'overtaking table tennis' before showing an increase, which is not clearly supported by the visual data provided. To reach a higher band, ensure that comparisons are precise and that the chronological progression of data is described more accurately. The overview is clear and provides a good summary of the main trends, which is a positive aspect of your report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'while', 'additionally', and 'lastly' to connect your ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the film club and martial arts could be more fluid. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the overview from the detailed analysis, which helps the reader follow the progression of your argument. Overall, the structure is clear and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey information clearly, using terms like 'fluctuation', 'considerable decline', and 'rocketed'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'most popular figure' (a figure is a number, not an activity) and 'opposite pattern', which could be phrased more naturally. You attempt to use less common vocabulary, which is good, but ensure that these terms are used in the correct context to avoid ambiguity. The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task and does not impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'The line graph illustrates...' and '...while it remained the popular figure over the period given.' While most sentences are clear, there are some grammatical slips, such as 'starting and ending point were roughly the same' (should be 'points') and 'the figure for table tennis increased... then rocketed' (a bit repetitive). Punctuation is generally accurate, and your control of verb tenses is consistent with the requirements of a report on past data. The errors present do not impede the reader's understanding.
