Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered all categories and made relevant comparisons, such as noting the rise of table tennis against the decline of amateur dramatics. However, some data points are slightly inaccurate; for instance, you stated the film club increased by 3 individuals, but the graph shows a more significant change. To reach a higher band, ensure your data reporting is precise and avoid minor inaccuracies in interpreting the figures. The overview is well-placed, and the key features are highlighted effectively, which demonstrates a good understanding of the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on specific trends. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Overall', 'while', and 'after that', to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel repetitive. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the progression of ideas within paragraphs is smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the information is presented in a way that is easy for the reader to follow, which is a strength.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly, using terms like 'popularity', 'participants', and 'drastic fall'. However, there are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'not much famous' instead of 'not very popular' and 'git involve' (a spelling error). You also rely on some repetitive phrasing. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct word forms. Expanding your range of synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' would also help demonstrate a more flexible command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('The line graph illustrate', 'popularity of amateur dramatics were droping') and tense inconsistencies ('had added late', 'git involve'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring consistent verb tenses when describing past trends. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures would also be beneficial.
