Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task and identifies key trends for each activity. You successfully highlighted the main features, such as the growth of the table tennis participants and the decline of amateur dramatics. However, the overview is slightly weak; while you mention the film club and table tennis, it would be more effective to group the trends more clearly (e.g., those that increased versus those that decreased). Additionally, some data points are slightly imprecise, such as describing the martial arts trend as 'fluctuation' when it shows a more distinct peak and decline. To improve, ensure your overview captures the most significant overall patterns rather than just listing individual activities.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding summary. You use cohesive devices like 'firstly', 'secondly', and 'furthermore' to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel repetitive. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking phrases rather than relying on simple sequence markers. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences are slightly disjointed, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuation', 'drastically', and 'steadily'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'the table tennis participants was very low' (should be 'participation was low') and 'the number of it again same 2010'. These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the precision of your report. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that nouns and verbs agree correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles, pluralization, and verb tense consistency (e.g., 'the musical performance started', 'the table tennis player were'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'reached 67 number of participants', which should be 'reached 67 participants'. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
