Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the graph and provided a clear overview. You covered all five activities and made relevant comparisons, such as noting the film club's consistent popularity and the dramatic decline in amateur dramatics. The data is accurately reported, and the structure is logical. To reach a higher band, ensure you provide a more comprehensive comparison of the trends across the entire period rather than just listing data points. For instance, you could explicitly contrast the stability of martial arts with the volatility of other categories more deeply.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Conversely', 'Similarly', and 'In contrast' to link ideas effectively. However, there are some minor issues with paragraphing and punctuation, such as the fragmented sentences at the start and the inconsistent spacing between paragraphs. The flow is generally smooth, but the mechanical presentation of the text (e.g., the extra line breaks) slightly detracts from the professional appearance of the report. Improving the consistency of your paragraph transitions would strengthen this further.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey information clearly. Phrases like 'significant growth', 'minor fluctuation', and 'steep decline' are used appropriately. There are a few minor errors, such as 'the another activity' (should be 'the other activity') and 'underwent slightly variations' (should be 'slight variations'). While you use some good descriptive language, incorporating a few more precise academic collocations or synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' would help you move into the higher band range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'The film club maintain' (subject-verb agreement error, should be 'maintains') and 'peaked slightly 38' (missing preposition, should be 'peaked at 38'). Additionally, there are some punctuation errors, such as the missing full stop after the first paragraph and the awkward spacing. Despite these errors, they do not impede communication, and you show a good attempt at using varied sentence forms.
