Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all key features of the graph and provides a clear overview of the trends. You successfully identified the main upward, downward, and fluctuating patterns. However, the report could be improved by grouping the data more effectively. For instance, instead of listing every category in a separate paragraph, you could group activities by their performance (e.g., those that increased versus those that decreased). Additionally, while you provided specific figures, the comparison between categories could be more analytical rather than just listing numbers. Overall, the task is well-addressed with a clear summary of the main trends.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition' and 'Overall', which help the flow. However, the transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is slightly repetitive, as you use 'Overall' twice. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the paragraphing could be more balanced. Some sentences are a bit mechanical in their structure, and using a wider variety of linking words would improve the cohesion of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'upward trend', 'downward trend', 'sharp surge', and 'fluctuated'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'fluctuated trend' (should be 'fluctuated throughout') and 'remained same' (should be 'remained the same'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the information clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for a higher band score. Expanding your repertoire of descriptive verbs and adverbs would enhance the quality of your report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('the number of participants in film club' should be 'the film club') and minor punctuation issues. Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'remained almost same in the end of period'. Despite these errors, they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on article usage and ensuring consistent verb tenses when describing past data.
