Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student attempts to address the task by mentioning several activities such as musical performances, table tennis, amateur dramatics, and martial arts. However, there are significant inaccuracies in the interpretation of the visual data. For instance, the student refers to the year 2025, which falls outside the given 2000 to 2020 timeframe, and mislocates the social centre to 'different countries' rather than Melbourne, Australia. Furthermore, the descriptions of trends are vague and lack specific data support, offering generalized statements like 'a small group join this afterwards their noticed a darastic increase till 2020'. While the main features are touched upon, the response suffers from underdeveloped ideas and inaccurate reporting of details, placing it firmly at a Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organized into four brief paragraphs, attempting an introductory overview, body points, and a concluding sentence. However, the overall progression is disjointed and lacks a clear logical flow. Cohesive devices are either missing, repetitive, or awkward, such as 'to initiate the discussion with the activity name' and 'then comes to TAble tennis'. Paragraphing is visibly weak, with body information grouped loosely and some sentences running together without proper punctuation. Referencing between ideas is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to track the comparisons being made. This corresponds to the Band 5.0 descriptors for logical organization and paragraphing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very limited and basic, resulting in frequent errors that impede communication. The student relies heavily on repetitive phrasing like 'participants', 'activity', and 'interest in it'. There are numerous word choice and collocation errors, such as 'amount of participants' instead of 'number of participants', 'social platform' instead of 'social centre', and 'public take intrest'. Spelling errors are also present, including 'takr', 'begning', and 'darastic'. While the student attempts some less common words like 'engagement' and 'significant', the high frequency of lexical inaccuracies and poor control over word forms restricts the score to a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The grammatical range is severely restricted, consisting mainly of flawed attempts at complex sentences. The text contains frequent grammatical and punctuation errors that cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include fragment sentences ('to initiate the discussion with the activity name as Musical performances while public take intrest in it in year 2025') and subject-verb agreement issues ('the number of participants remains almost same or just slightly increase or decrease is noticed'). Punctuation is largely neglected, with sentences lacking proper capitalization and terminal periods in places. Due to the high density of structural errors and the lack of error-free sentences, a score of 4.5 is warranted, which is represented as 4.5.
