The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
As far as this graphic description is concerned, the given graph shows the information about the numbers of participants for different ativities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.
Overall, it is clear that there are noticeable trends and differences. Some aspects increase while others decrease and a few reamin relatively stable.
In 2000, the musical performances had lowest participants of all time. Whereas, in 2005 a rose was observed and it kept on icreasing till 2020 respectively. Table tennis had 16 numbers of participants in 2000 and a slight increase was observed in 2005 and 2010 respectively. After 2010, the numbers grew significantly to 37 and 55 in years 2015 and 2020 respectively. The amateur dramatics had around 26 numbers of participants in 2000, and these numbers increased slightly to 29 in 2005. However, from 2010 to 2020, a decline was observed. Furthermore, the martial arts had 36 numbers of participants in 2000 and these numbers dropped to around 32 in 2005. However, in 2010 to 2020, slight increase, decrease and then increase were observed respectively. The film club remained relatively stable through the period 2000 to 2020, showing slight decrease and increase respectively.
In conclusion, the graph presents a clear pattern of changes in numbers of participants with some activities showing growth and others showing a decline or stability.
