Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response successfully covers all parts of the task by identifying and reporting the main trends and making relevant comparisons across the given activities. In the introduction, the writer outlines what the graph illustrates, and the overview highlights key movements such as the film club's prominence and the sudden boost in table tennis. Specific figures, such as the rise of table tennis to 50 people by 2020 and the decline of the amateur club, are selected and reported. However, some data points are slightly inaccurate or imprecise, and the description tends to be a bit listing-heavy rather than fully synthesized. Nevertheless, the main features are clearly presented, fulfilling the requirements for Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The report exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with a logical division into paragraphs, including an introduction, an overview, and separate body paragraphs for specific details. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases like 'In the same way' and 'On the other hand' are used, but referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., referring to activities as 'population' or 'individuals'). Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the response, but progression within paragraphs feels somewhat disjointed due to abrupt shifts between different data points. This fits the Band 6.0 descriptor profile well.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'remarkable', 'sudden boost', and 'gain popularity'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation inaccuracies, such as referring to the number of participants as 'population' ('progress in its population' and 'amateur dramatics depict decline in更容易 the population') and spelling slips like 'flim'. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.5, reflecting a limited but minimally adequate range with noticeable lexical lapses.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'While, amateur club had higher individuals(25) than table tennis in 2000, which by 2010 reduces to 15...'. There are several grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('flim club remain', 'musical performance start'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('added 15 person's'). Despite these errors, the sentences are generally understandable and communication is not impeded. This performance aligns closely with the Band 5.5 descriptors, sitting between the 5.0 and 6.0 thresholds.
