The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The line graph compares information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period of 2000 to 2020. At a glance, it has five types of activities, film club, amateur dramatics, table tennis, musical performances and martial arts.

To begin with, table tennis had the lowest amount of the participants in the year of 2000, while ameteur dramatics had 8% more joiners than the table tennis, which is 25% in the same year. The trend of table tennis had drastically augmented from 20 to 50 individuals, while the trend of amature dramatics significantally decrease in the year of 2005, from 37 to 3 people. Martial art and film club had the fluctuated graph, which is stayed between 30 to 40 participants and 60 to 70 participants respectively. The musical performances had negligible amount of population in the 2000 and 2005, after that, it increased gradually with the same pace, which ultimately stayed with 14 participants in the 2020.

Overall, the highest participants joined in the film club and lowest participants joined in the amateur dramatics in the final year.
