The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The line graph illustrates the number of participants for varieties of activities at a particular city in Australia between the year 2000 and 2020.
Overall, it can bee seen that Film club was the most popular activity throughout the year from 2000 to 2020, whereas Amateur dramatics was the least famous in 2020.
In the year 2000, around 65 number of participants took place in Film club, while there were zero students for musical performances. Amount of pupils participanting in Martial Arts, Amateur dramatics and Table tennis was approx 35, 25 and 15 respectively. A fluctuations can be seen in proportion of participants in Film club and Martial arts regardless they remained same in 2020 as same as it was in the year 2000.
on the other hand, there was a significant increase in Table tennis after 2010 as it reached nearly 50 in 2020. While coming to Amateur Dramatics, there was a slight rise in 2005, however the numbers plummeted dramatically and reached below 10 making it less preferable among all other activities. Musical performance saw a great climb after it was introduced in 2005 crossing the amount of participants for amateur dramatics in 2015.
