The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 7.0)
The data presents the amount of individuals participated in five different activities at one social center in Melbourne, Australia between 2000 and 2020.
Overall, the number of participants of both Film club and Martial arts fluctuated over the given period. While Table tennis and Musical performances attracted more individuals, the amount of people took part in Amateur dramatics fell significantly.
The figures for participants in both Film club and Martial arts fluctuated between 60 and 70 participants for the former and between 30 and 40 for the latter. Amateur dramatics, on the other hand, was at little over 25 participants in 2000 and fell to approximately 5 people taking part in their activities by 2020.
In 2000, Table tennis had over 15 people participating in its activities, a number that had increased gradually to reach around 20 individuals by 2010. Proceeding from 2010, the figures had soared reaching almost 55 participants in 2020. Musical performances, however, gained popularity starting from 0 participants in 2005 to almost 20 by 2020.
