Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to cover the main features of the chart, correctly identifying the film club as having high participation and table tennis as experiencing significant growth. However, there are notable inaccuracies in reporting data, such as stating that table tennis was one of the lowest activities 'ower the period' when it actually showed a massive upward trend from 16 to 54 participants. Furthermore, the overview is rather vague and contains numerous spelling and grammatical distortions ('illustret', 'a,areut dramatics') that impede clear communication. The response does not adequately summarize all the trends or make accurate comparative statements throughout, aligning best with a Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is organized into basic paragraphs, attempting an overview followed by body paragraphs detailing specific data points. However, logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor sequencing and confusing transitions like 'secondly, the individuals'. Cohesive devices are either misused or absent, and referencing is often unclear (e.g., 'the second year amateur and table tenis were touch each other'). Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak and mechanical. This places the response firmly at a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very limited and basic, with frequent spelling errors such as 'illustret', 'intrested', 'comper', 'steable', 'sliety', 'simillarly', and 'rosely'. There are also several awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'doing by people' instead of 'attended by people'. While the student attempts some less common vocabulary related to the chart, the high density of lexical errors and inaccurate word forms significantly restricts precision and causes frequent comprehension difficulties for the reader, matching Band 4.5 to 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is very weak. There are persistent errors in subject-verb agreement ('the Martial arts was nearly 30 people'), tense usage ('amateur dramatics was sliety increas'), and prepositions ('at the last year'). Punctuation is also erratic, with missing spaces around commas. The high frequency of grammatical errors frequently impedes communication, warranting a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.
