The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The line graph shows the number of participants in five different activities from 2000 to 2020. it is include five participants . Overall, the film club was the most popular activity throughout the period, while table tennis showed the biggest increase. In contrast, amateur dramatics became less popular over time.
In 2000, about 64 people joined the film club. This figure fell slightly to 60 in 2010, before rising to around 66 in 2020. The number of people in martial arts was 36 in 2000 and decreased to 32 in 2005. It then increased to 38 in 2010 and finished at about 36.
Table tennis rose steadily from 16 participants in 2000 to 54 in 2020. Amateur dramatics increased from 26 to 28 between 2000 and 2005, but then fell to only 6 in 2020. Musical performances had no participants in 2000 and 2005, but increased to 18 by 2020.
