The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The line graph depicts the amount of people that participated in film club, martial art, amateur dramatics, table tennis and musical performances at a social centre in melbourne between 2000 and 2020.
Overall there were fluctuations in the amount of people that performed different activities through out the whole season. However film club has a significantly high number of participant through out the whole season and table tennis recorded a sharp increase in number of participant towards the end of the season. Moreover the number of activities which started off as 4 at the beginning of the season, ended as 5 by the end of the season.
Film club which started off with about 65 participant in 2000 , the highest among all the activities steady maintained the same population with a negligible increase by the end of the season. martial art which started off with about 38 participant followed a similar pattern and maintained the number of participant by 2020..
Amateur dramatics started off with around 26 participant in 2000 recorded a negligible increase in 2005 followed by a sharp drop of about 20 participants in 2010 and by 2020 the participant as drop to below 10 making it the least of the five activities BY 2020. Table tennis followed an opposite trajectory, it commenced with about 15 participant in 2000 and grew steadily to 20 participant in 2010 after which a sharp increase of of 40 participants was recorded in 2015 and by 2020, the number of participants as grown to 50. The difference between film club which started off with 50 participant closed off the about 10 making table tennis the second most enjoyed activity by the end of the season. Musical performance which was non existence in 2020 started with 0 participant in 2005 grew steadily with 10 participant in 2010 and by 2020 the participant grew close to 20.
