The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The line graph illustrates the number of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne during the time period of 2000 to 2020.
Overall, film club accounted for the largest number of participants per year, while musical performances accounted for the lowest number of people. Furthermore, martial arts recorded the second largest number of individual.
The film club began with the highest participants at around 65 in 2000. This figure slightly plunged in 2010 then it rose consistantly to approximately 68 member by 2020. Meanwhile, Amateur dramatics started from 25 participants, after which it experienced a sharply decline, ending the period at roughly 9 participants.
In contrast, Martial arts showed similar figure in 2000 and 2020. Martial arts started at around 35 participants and it slightly fluctuates, which end with 35 in 2020. Table tennis started at 15 people by the decade it increased with 5 participants and reached around at 50 by the period of ending. Musical performance was zero in initial 5 years, after that it rose sharply a quarter by 2020.
