Student answer (Band 6.0)
The graph below illustrate the numbers of people who participated in diiferent activities at one social center in a city of Australia for the period of two decades (20 years). The numbers of participants in film club is highest in all the given period.
In first five years(2000 to 2005),a big number of people participated in film club which was 65 people. It followed a downward trend in next 5 years and reached to 60 people in 2010 but it increased continously in next decade and reached at 68 individuals. And the number of people who took part in martial arts decreased in first 5 years from 38 to 32 but it reached at 39 participants by following upward trend in 2010.But it remaind same in 2020 by following a flexibility in numbers of participants.
The number of participants in Ameteur dramatics started from 25 people and after a minor increase in first 5 years it reached at 10 participants in 2020 with a continous falling trend while, the ratio of people was 25 in 2005 who played table tenis and after first decade it increased rapidly in next 10 years and reached at high number of 55 peopel in 2020.On other hand the was zero people who was involved in musical performance till 2005 but after half decade it increased and got all of its time high which was 19 people.
Over all,it can be seen that at the end of second decade there was the least number of people who were intrested to participate in Amatuer dramatics.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers all parts of the task well, identifying key trends and data points across the five activities shown in the chart. The student successfully highlights the film club as consistently highest, notes the dramatic decline in amateur dramatics, and contrasts this with the significant rise in table tennis. An overview is also provided at the end. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in reading the specific figures compared to the visual data (e.g., stating the film club peaked at 68 when the graph shows around 66, and minor errors in starting points). Despite these minor deviations, the main features and comparisons are adequately reported, fulfilling the requirements for Band 6.5 to 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response displays a clear overall arrangement and attempts logical sequencing by grouping activities into paragraphs. Cohesive devices such as 'In first five years', 'after first decade', and 'On other hand' are employed to guide the reader through the data, although some transitional phrases feel mechanical or awkward. Paragraphing is used, but the structure is somewhat hindered by run-on sentences and a lack of a distinct introduction paragraph break before diving into the details. Referencing is mostly clear, but overall progression is slightly disjointed due to frequent abrupt shifts between different data series. This corresponds well to a Band 6.0 level of coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and descriptive phrases such as 'downward trend', 'upward trend', and 'continous falling trend'. However, there are several noticeable spelling errors ('diiferent', 'center', 'continously', 'remaind', 'flexibility', 'Ameteur', 'tenis', 'Amatuer') and word choice inaccuracies (using 'ratio' instead of 'number' or 'proportion', and 'flexibility' to mean fluctuation). These lexical errors and spelling slips occur frequently, which prevents the score from reaching a higher band, though communication remains clear throughout.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and subordinate structures like 'while, the ratio of people was...'. However, there are numerous grammatical inaccuracies, particularly with missing articles ('in film club', 'at high number'), incorrect prepositions ('in first 5 years', 'at the end of second decade'), and punctuation issues such as missing spaces after periods and commas. Subject-verb agreement errors also occur, such as 'The numbers of participants... is highest' and 'there was zero people who was involved'. These errors require some effort from the reader to parse, placing the grammar firmly in the Band 5.5 category.
