The provided graph below illustrates the numerous numbers of participants for various hobbies performed in a single social centre in Melbourn, Australia through 2000 to 2020.

In general, the participants in film club was seen to be constant while on the othe hand table tennis players sky rocketted by 2020. All activities faced a significant increase in participant while ameateur dramatics was the only one to descrease.

The participants performing amateur dramatics from 2000 to 2005 was quite identical but rock bottomed by 2020 with less than 10 candidates. The table tennis players were less than 20 in 2000 but increased to 20 by 2010. However, players for teable tennis sky rocketted exceeding 50 participants.

Individulas in film club were quite constant as the whole result were around 70 throughout the time period. Martial arts participants kept oscillating from around 40 to almost 40 from 2000 to 2020. It is seen that individuals weren't interested in musical perforamnces as the participants remianed zero from 2000 to 2005 but it gradually increased to almost 20 by the year 2020.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The student attempts to address the task by reporting several features and trends from the graph, such as the stability of the film club and the dramatic increase in table tennis. However, there are significant inaccuracies in data interpretation. For example, the text states that amateur dramatics was 'the only one to descrease' and hit 'rock bottomed by 2020 with less than 10 candidates', which is mostly accurate, but the general overview contains confusing contradictions (e.g., claiming 'All activities faced a significant increase... while ameateur dramatics was the only one to descrease', whereas martial arts and film club fluctuated). Additionally, the overview contains a factual error regarding the film club, stating participants were 'around 70' when the graph shows them around 60-64. The overview is somewhat weak due to these generalisation errors. Overall, the response addresses the prompt but suffers from imprecise reporting and data errors, fitting Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is divided into a clear introductory paragraph and three body paragraphs, showing a basic attempt at paragraphing. However, logical progression within and between paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by confusing statements and mechanical or inaccurate use of cohesive devices (e.g., 'In general, the participants in film club was seen to be constant while on the othe hand table tennis players sky rocketted'). Referencing is sometimes unclear, and transitions between sentences can feel abrupt. While there is a discernible overarching structure, the awkward phrasing and occasional lack of clear logical flow place this response at Band 5.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'sky rocketted', 'oscillating', and 'candidates'. However, there are numerous spelling errors ('Melbourn', 'ameateur', 'descrease', 'teable', 'Individulas', 'perforamnces', 'remianed') and awkward word choices or collocations (e.g., 'numerous numbers of participants', 'hobbies performed in a single social centre', 'candidates' instead of 'participants'). These lexical errors and spelling mistakes cause some strain for the reader, though communication remains intact. This performance aligns with Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures are frequently affected by errors. There are several subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'the participants in film club was seen', 'The participants... was quite identical'), punctuation lapses, and typos in verb forms. While simple sentences are generally understandable, errors in grammar are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader (e.g., 'Martial arts participants kept oscillating from around 40 to almost 40', which is semantically contradictory). This level of control corresponds to Band 5.0.
