The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The line graph tracks the number of participants at a social centre, participating in different activities in Melbourne, Australia during the years 2000 to 2020. These activities include film club, martial arts, amateur dramatics, table tennis and musical performances.

Overall, people showed more interest in film as it maintained a record for the highest number of participants throughout the given period. In contrast, musical permormances had a minimum number of attendees.

Although enrollments in table tennis were lower (recorded at figures of 16) in the year 2000, it rose rapidly after the year 2010 and reported at values of 36 in the year 2015 and 51 in the year 2020. Amateur dramatics were at 25 in the year 2000 and at 26 in the year 2005, however, the figures dropped in the following years and recorded at only 5 participants in 2020. While the martial arts kept the number of participants between 30 to 40 during the given years 2000 to 2020.

However, there is a spelling typo ('permormances' instead of 'performances') and some slight lexical awkwardness, such as 'reported at values of' rather than 'stood at' or 'reached'.
