The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The line graph illustrates data on the number of candidates participated in different pursuits at one social centre in Melbourne from 2000 to 2020.
Overall, the number of participants of Table tennis and and Musical performances followed an upward trend, whereas Film club and Martial arts participant remained the same throughout the period despite some fluctuations. Furthermore, Amateur dramatics' participants declined steadily.
Looking at the candidates of Film club and Martial arts, although the number of participants were higher in that activity over the period, with nearly 65 candidates initially, declined to 60 in 2010 before rising again to 65. By contrast, Martial arts' participants hovered between 30 and 40.
In terms of the number of participants attended Table tennis and Musical performances, with Table tennis started off at 15 students and after 2010, it recorded a dramtic increase up to roughly 53 candidates, whereas Musical performancers which were initially 0 in 2005, climbed to 20.
In 2000, Amateur dramatics' participants were approximately 25, increased slightly to 29 before declining sharply to only 5 by the end.
