The graph below gives information on the numbers of participants for different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia for the period 2000 to 2020.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The line chart provides information regarding the numbers of participants to engage a wide range of activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia between 2000 and 2020.

Overall, it is evident that the numbers of participants for film club, table tennis, and musical performances increased over the 20-year period, while amateur dramatics experienced a declined. Notably, the participants for table tannis witnessed the most significantly change throughout the period.

To begin with, the higher amount of participants for film club, at around 65 in 2000, which increased steadily to roungly 68 after 2020. In contrast, musical performances was not common from 2000 to 2005. In 2010, at more than 10 of participants in 2010, it then gradually increased to about 15 in 2020.

In 2000, at around 25 participants for amateur dramaties. Following this, it showed a sharp fell, ending up with 5 pariticipants in 2020.

In case of martial arts, this pattern showd a fluctuation from 2000 to 2020. The figure for table tennis stood at approximately 15 participants in 2000, which slightly increased to around 20 participants in 2010. After that, it followed an upword trend, reaching to about 55 participants in the last year.
