Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The student successfully addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features, selecting relevant data points, and making direct comparisons between activities. An overview is provided, highlighting that the film club experienced the highest participation while musical performances were initially the lowest. Key trends are correctly identified, such as the dramatic rise in table tennis and the steep decline in amateur dramatics. However, there are minor inaccuracies in reporting specific figures, such as stating table tennis began at 'almost 18 members' when the graph shows 16, and referring to participants as 'inhabitants'. Nonetheless, the general trends and comparisons are well covered, satisfying the requirements for a Band 6.5 to 7.0 response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to group information logically by activity across paragraphs. Paragraphing is used, separating the introduction, overview, and body details. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or awkwardly deployed, such as 'In details' instead of 'In detail', and 'Afterwards, It grow sharply 52 members' which lacks necessary prepositions and linking words. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression within paragraphs is disrupted by abrupt shifts between sentences. Despite these flaws, the relationship between ideas can be followed, aligning with the Band 6 descriptors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common terms such as 'fluctuated', 'dramatically', and 'gradually'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as referring to participants as 'inhabitants' or 'players' for table tennis, and misspelling 'Amateur dramtics'. Word formation errors also occur, such as 'Musician performances' instead of 'Musical performances' and 'partcipants'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points, the frequent lexical inaccuracies restrict the score to a solid Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response includes a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like time clauses ('for the period of time between 2000 to 2020') and contrastive transitions. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several tense and verb form errors, such as 'It grow sharply 52 members' (missing prepositions and incorrect tense), 'it reached its peak to 18 players', and 'it remained unchange'. Punctuation and capitalization errors also appear, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters ('It grow', 'It reached'). Because these errors frequently cause minor comprehension hurdles, the grammar aligns best with Band 5.5, rounded to 6.0 based on positive assessment of structural attempts.
