Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response attempts to cover the main features of the graph, presenting an overview and some specific data points such as the Film club figures and Table tennis trends. However, the information is partially inaccurate, with misread values and confusing descriptions, such as stating the Film club was 'unchanged untill at 70 in the 2020' when it fluctuated, and misreporting the final year for Table tennis as 2022. The overview is overly simplistic and grammatically awkward, leading to a response that only partially addresses the task requirements with limited and under-developed ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation with paragraphs attempting to separate the overview and body details, but the response lacks a clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as abrupt transitional words ('Firstly', 'While', 'In addition') that fail to create logical links between ideas. Referencing and progression are sometimes confusing, and the grouping of information lacks precision, causing the reader to work harder to follow the intended comparisons between categories.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include spelling and word formation errors like 'Melburn', 'priods', 'Futhermore', 'beggin', 'flactuated', 'startes', 'fastly', and 'Consequentally'. The student attempts some descriptive vocabulary related to trends ('upward direction', 'downward trend rapidly'), but the precision and range remain restricted.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer uses a limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and word order that cause difficulty, such as missing prepositions, incorrect verb forms ('the graph Film club Table tennis and Musical performances shows'), and run-on sentences lacking proper conjunctions. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are also inconsistent throughout the text.
