Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting an overview of the main trends and reporting key figures, such as the film club remaining the highest and table tennis increasing significantly. However, some parts of the response are under-developed or contain inaccuracies. For instance, the writer states that musical performances 'started in 2005 and still reached almost 20 peoples in 2020', whereas the data shows they started at zero in 2005 and reached approximately 18 in 2020. Furthermore, the description of martial arts as having 'fluctuated through the time and remained almost stable' is slightly contradictory. The overview is present, but the details lack precision in supporting key comparisons consistently across all categories.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement and attempts to group information logically into an introduction, an overview paragraph, and body paragraphs focusing on specific data points. However, the progression between ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or awkward cohesive devices. For example, 'On the other hand table tennis started...' and 'Meanwhile martial arts fluctuated through the time and remained almost stable...' create slight logical friction. Paragraphing is used, but referencing is not always clear, and the transition between sentences within paragraphs can feel disjointed rather than naturally flowing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases like 'steady decline' and 'faced a huge rise up'. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and awkward word choices throughout the text. Examples include 'the amount of participants' instead of 'the number of participants', 'relatively same' instead of 'relatively the same', 'round about 17 individuals', and the plural form 'peoples' instead of 'people'. These errors in word choice and collocation reflect a limited range and occasional strain, though they do not completely impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'while musical performances started in 2005 and still reached almost 20 peoples in 2020.' However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly regarding prepositions and articles. Examples include 'started from a quantity of around 65 persons', 'ended with relatively same in the year 2020', and 'fluctuated through the time'. These frequent errors in grammatical patterns and modifiers require the reader to occasionally slow down, placing the performance at this level.
