Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response attempts to address all parts of the task by reporting on the different activities across the given timeframe. However, the coverage is somewhat uneven and contains inaccuracies in data interpretation. For instance, the writer states that musical performance started in 2005 with 10 participants, whereas the chart shows it started at zero in 2005 and reached 12 in 2010. While an overview is provided at the end, it lacks clarity and precision regarding the overall trends. The ideas are limited and under-developed, relying heavily on a mechanical listing of figures rather than a well-supported summary of main features and meaningful comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response shows some organisation with an introduction, a body paragraph, and a summary conclusion, but it lacks a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, though the central body paragraph is overly dense and reads like a continuous block of separate data points rather than a cohesive discussion of trends. Cohesive devices are minimal, mechanical, or inaccurate, such as using "To commensing with" to open the body. Referencing and logical sequencing between sentences are weak, causing the information to feel disjointed and difficult to follow smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, relying on simple verbs like "increase" and "decrease". There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as "darmatics" instead of dramatics, "parformance" instead of performance, and "tabble tennis". These errors, alongside awkward collocations like "decline by most participants", indicate a restricted control of vocabulary and spelling, which occasionally causes difficulty for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple and attempted complex sentence structures that frequently contain errors. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, verb tenses, and missing articles, such as "The line graph illustrate", "social centre in melbourne", and "film club have". Punctuation and capitalization are also problematic, with multiple run-on sentences and missing periods at sentence boundaries. These frequent errors across basic structures heavily impact the readability of the text.
