Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response sits at this level because it fails to meet the minimum length requirement, containing only 114 words (with 9 words copied from the prompt left uncounted). It attempts to address all parts of the task by reporting on several activities, such as the film club and table tennis, but the coverage is limited and mechanical. The overview is overly simplistic, stating that 'the film club is the most People activity hight the period' and mentioning growth and decrease without effectively synthesising the overall trends across the 20-year period. Furthermore, some data points are inaccurate or poorly supported, such as stating that martial arts remained around '25 matrilas' when the figures show fluctuations around 30 to 38. To improve, you must write at least 150 words and present a clearer, more accurate summary of the main trends with well-selected supporting data.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
Your response demonstrates some basic organisation, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. While you attempt to group information into sentences and paragraphs, the structural arrangement is disjointed and confusing, ending with a stray summary sentence that lacks context: 'The table of social centre to deffrents activities in 2000 - 2020.' Cohesive devices are used minimally and sometimes inaccurately, such as the abrupt transitions between sentences ('Hovewer Amaterur Dramatics fell'). Referencing and linking between ideas are frequently faulty, making it difficult for the reader to follow a logical path through the data. To reach a higher band, you need to group related information logically, use paragraphs effectively to separate different trends, and employ cohesive devices more naturally to connect your ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is very limited and minimally adequate for the task, containing frequent errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Throughout the text, you rely on basic terms and make numerous lexical slips, such as 'activiity', 'Center', 'Ameteur', 'mertials arts', 'Amarteur', and 'participanrts'. Expressions like 'most People activity hight the period' show a lack of control over standard collocations and appropriate academic vocabulary. To improve, you should expand your range of vocabulary by learning precise terms to describe data trends, such as 'fluctuate', 'decline', and 'surge', while paying closer attention to correct spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You demonstrate a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors when attempting more complex constructions. There are numerous grammatical inaccuracies throughout your writing, including incorrect verb tenses and forms ('Table tennis in increased grow', 'The film club remaind almost stable in reachad'), missing or incorrect prepositions, and faulty article use. Punctuation and capitalization are also problematic, as seen in 'Overall, The film club'. These frequent errors frequently cause difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, you need to practice forming accurate simple and complex sentences, ensure correct subject-verb agreement, and carefully check your verb tenses when reporting past statistical data.
