Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 2.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, stopping well short at only 88 words. Furthermore, the content fails to properly address the prompt. Instead of summarising the specific data shown in the line graph regarding the five activities at the social centre, the writing contains vague, generic phrases such as 'the figure experienced a significant increase' without identifying what is being measured. The key features and comparisons required by the task are entirely missing, resulting in a minimal and tangential response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text shows an attempt at basic organisation through paragraph breaks, but the overall progression of ideas is absent. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or incorrectly, such as the sudden transition 'overview, the figure...', and referencing is unclear because it is never established what 'the figure' refers to. While there is some basic sequencing of chronological points, the mechanical misuse of cohesive elements prevents the writing from achieving a clear logical flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, featuring basic terms like 'increase', 'drop', and 'point'. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as the misspelling 'signficicant', and awkward collocations like 'rates of changes'. While the writer attempts some vocabulary related to graph trends, the restricted range and frequent errors mean the language is only minimally adequate for conveying meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a limited range of sentence structures, but these attempts are frequently faulty. There are noticeable grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies and preposition misuse, such as 'changes in over a timeline in focusing on' and 'It then experience a sudden drop'. Punctuation and spacing errors are also present, such as missing spaces after commas, which contributes to difficulties for the reader in following the grammatical structures.
