Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, containing only 115 words, with 21 of those words copied directly from the prompt. Consequently, the task is addressed only partially. While the student attempts to summarise the information by mentioning the film club and amateur dramatics, the coverage is severely limited, inaccurate, and lacks a clear overview. For instance, the claim that amateur dramatics is 'second number in the over the time period' contradicts the visual data, and numerical data is incorrectly expressed using percentages rather than the actual number of participants. Ideas remain underdeveloped and confused, reflecting a minimal response to the visual information.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response demonstrates minimal organisation and lacks a clear overall progression. The essay is broken into very short, disjointed sentences and lacks proper paragraphing, as it consists of single-sentence paragraphs that fail to group related ideas together. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, with repetitive transitions such as 'in the over the time period' and 'On the other hand' used mechanically. Furthermore, referencing is unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical relationship between the activities and their trends over time. To improve, the writer needs to group related data into coherent paragraphs and use a wider variety of accurate cohesive links to connect sentences smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and frequently inaccurate. The student attempts less common vocabulary but makes numerous spelling mistakes, such as 'amture' instead of amateur, 'attendene' instead of attendance, 'flim' instead of film, 'Material' instead of Martial, 'amature' instead of amateur, 'pf' instead of of, and 'muscial' instead of musical. Word choice and word forms are also problematic, such as using 'involvers' instead of participants, and mistakenly using percentage symbols (%) instead of raw numbers. These lexical limitations and frequent errors cause strain for the reader and prevent effective communication of the data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, relying heavily on simple sentence structures that are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'the film club participants is highly increased', 'The muscial performance are same', and 'less in all next is years'. Punctuation and sentence boundary errors also occur frequently. Complex structures are attempted, such as in the sentence comparing years, but these attempts are flawed and hinder clarity. To reach a higher band, the student must improve control over basic sentence construction, ensure correct verb tenses and agreement, and reduce the frequency of grammatical errors.
