Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by identifying the main features and providing relevant data points, which places it securely at this level. The overview correctly highlights the film club as the most popular activity and notes the significant growth of table tennis, alongside the decline in amateur dramatics. However, some parts of the task are handled more fully than others; certain details are under-developed or slightly inaccurate when checked against the visual data. For instance, the discussion of martial arts becomes convoluted and difficult to follow, stating it 'startind at around 35 than rise steadily aroung 40 in 2010 after a while comes to the actual nummbers of participants 36 in 2020.' Providing a clearer, more precise selection of key figures across all five categories would move the response higher.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The text presents a coherent overall arrangement with a logical division into paragraphs, grouping the overview, general trends, and specific data into distinct sections. However, progression is sometimes hindered by awkward transitions and mechanical or faulty referencing. For example, the sentence 'Therefore, Amateur dramatics have 30 peoples participants...' misuses the cohesive marker 'Therefore' as a contrastive link, and the connection between sentences in the second body paragraph feels disjointed. Paragraphing is present and separates the introduction, body details, and overview logically, but achieving a higher band requires smoother logical flow between ideas and more natural use of cohesive devices throughout.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'significant growth', 'considerable', and 'fluctuated slightly'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, word form, and spelling that prevent a higher score. Examples include spelling errors like 'Austrailia', 'filmclub', 'flucuated', 'startind', 'than' instead of 'then', and 'nummbers', as well as awkward lexical phrasing such as 'peoples participants' and 'rise than sharply'. These errors do not seriously impede overall communication, but they reflect the limitations characteristic of this band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like 'while Table tennis experienced...' and 'Musical performances had no participants in 2000 to 2005, but numbers increased steadily...'. At the same time, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues, including tense inconsistencies ('decline considerably', 'show a gradual increase'), missing or incorrect prepositions, and structural breakdowns in complex clauses such as 'Martial arts startind at around 35 than rise steadily...'. While these errors rarely completely impede understanding, their frequency across basic grammatical categories means the response does not yet achieve a higher band.
