Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several important patterns, including the relative stability of the film club, the strong rise in table tennis, and the decline in amateur dramatics. However, some key details are inaccurate or unclear: table tennis rises sharply after 2010, not in 2010, and amateur dramatics does not merely dip after “coinciding” with table tennis; it falls from about 28 in 2005 to 6 by 2020. The account of musical performances also misstates the endpoint: participation begins at zero in 2000 and reaches about 18 in 2020, rather than starting in 2005 and reaching 12. Martial arts is described as ending at 39, although it fluctuates around the mid-30s. A more precise overview and accurate comparisons would strengthen coverage.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two detail paragraphs. Sequencing the activities across these paragraphs makes the report generally easy to follow, and phrases such as “On the other hand” help signal a shift in focus. However, some links are unclear or mechanically used. In particular, “after conciding Table Tennis in 2010” does not clearly explain the relationship between the two series, while “Lastly” introduces musical performances without a clear comparison. Grouping the rising, falling, and relatively stable activities would create a more logical progression. Ensure each paragraph develops a clear comparison, and use linking expressions only when their relationship is accurate.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for describing trends, including “remained almost consistent,” “slight change,” and “sharp boom.” These choices communicate the general direction of movement, and attempts at more descriptive language show some range. However, several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural for a formal data report: “drastic boom” and “sharp boom” are better expressed as “sharp increase,” while “candidates” is not appropriate for people taking part in activities. There are also spelling errors, including “Predominently,” “conciding,” and “undergoiinng,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for precise trend vocabulary and standard spelling; avoid dramatic wording when a neutral description such as “rose substantially” is more suitable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including the overview sentence contrasting table tennis and film club and the longer descriptions of individual trends. The main meaning is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. The opening is a sentence fragment ending with a comma, and the overview contains a faulty construction in “after conciding Table Tennis in 2010.” In “musical performances starting from 2005, reached 12,” the opening phrase is not correctly connected to the main clause. Articles and number patterns are also inconsistent, as in “number of participants” and “the following years.” Use complete sentences, check that introductory phrases attach clearly to their clauses, and review articles and punctuation.
