Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main overall patterns: the film club remains the largest activity, table tennis rises substantially, and amateur dramatics declines sharply. These are relevant features, and the comparison of table tennis and martial arts at the end is useful. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear. Musical performances do not begin increasing in 2005; participation stays at zero until 2010, then rises to about 18 by 2020. The film-club figure also dips slightly before recovering, rather than simply returning to the same level. Your overview would be stronger if it highlighted the major changes across the period, especially table tennis becoming the second-largest activity and amateur dramatics falling to the lowest level. Some trends are reported, but not all are developed precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and two detail paragraphs. Sequencing the activities with “Firstly” and “Secondly” helps the reader follow the discussion, and the main comparisons are generally grouped sensibly. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the repeated “number of participants” phrasing makes the account less smooth. Some links are unclear: “While the lowest number…” is not a complete contrast, and “If we talk about…” does not create a precise connection between the two series. The final paragraph also packs several activities into one long sentence. Use clearer topic sentences and organise details by trend—for example, stable/fluctuating series versus rising or falling series—to make the progression more consistent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “fluctuation,” “increased,” “decreases significantly” and “second highest,” so the reader can understand the broad trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are awkward, such as “knowledge of participants on their number,” “at one public place,” and “participants who join table tennis.” “Highest decrease” is also not a natural way to describe the largest fall. These choices sometimes make the meaning less precise, even though the intended comparisons are usually recoverable. Aim for standard chart language and vary it with accurate terms such as “the figure,” “participation,” “rose,” “remained stable,” and “fell to.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent. For example, “the number … starting with approximately 65 and see little fluctuation” lacks a correctly formed verb sequence; “it gradually start increases” combines incompatible verb forms; and “martial arts members starts” has subject–verb disagreement. The opening sentence, “This line graph below illustrates the knowledge of participants on their number,” is also structurally awkward. Several clauses are joined without clear grammatical links, particularly in the final paragraph. Practise complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and tense consistency when describing changes over time.
