Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You cover all five activities and provide a clear overview: the film club remains the most popular, while amateur dramatics declines substantially. Most figures and trends are accurately reported, including table tennis’s sharp rise and the steady growth in musical performances. There are a few small inaccuracies: musical performances begin at zero in 2000, not 2005, and the 2015 and 2020 figures are closer to 16 and 18 than 19 and 20. These do not undermine the overall account. To strengthen the response further, ensure the starting point of every series is clear and keep comparisons precise, particularly when describing the final values.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response is organised into an introduction, an overview and two body paragraphs, with the activities grouped in a generally logical way. Sequencing expressions such as “Looking first,” “Turning to the remaining activities” and “afterwards” help guide the reader through the years. This gives the report a coherent overall progression. However, some linking is repetitive, especially the repeated use of “Turning to,” and several long sentences join multiple changes with commas, making the relationships between details less clear. The musical-performances sentence also begins with an incomplete construction (“Furthermore, musical performances that starting…”). Use a wider range of concise transitions and separate complex data descriptions into complete, clearly punctuated sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of trend vocabulary, including “fluctuated,” “increased significantly,” “decreased considerably” and “steadily,” which allows you to describe the main movements. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “clud,” “Lokking,” “begining” and “futher” occur, while phrases such as “experienced rose” and “drop in their participants” are not natural collocations. Repetition of “participants” and “increased” also limits flexibility. Aim to learn common chart-description combinations, such as “the number of participants rose” and “the figure fell,” and proofread spelling carefully. More accurate collocations and a broader set of trend verbs would make the account clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of sentence forms, including comparisons and clauses linked by “while” and “afterwards,” but complex sentences are often faulty and errors occur frequently. For example, “while number of participants … decreased” is missing an article, and “it further increase” has an incorrect verb form. The construction “that was fluctuated” is also grammatically incorrect, while “musical performances that starting from 2005” is incomplete. Several sentences run together through comma splices, particularly in the descriptions of martial arts and amateur dramatics. Practise forming complete clauses with consistent past-tense verbs, and use full stops or semicolons to control sentence length. Greater accuracy in these basic patterns would make your meaning easier to follow.
