Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main overall pattern: the film club remains the most popular activity, table tennis and musical performances rise, and amateur dramatics declines. Several figures are also broadly accurate, including film club at about 65 initially and table tennis reaching around 50 by 2020. However, coverage is partial and some comparisons are unclear or inaccurate. For example, the statement that “others was lead the amount of 15,25,35 participate respectively” does not clearly identify the activities or match their starting values, and the claim that table tennis and amateur dramatics “shot up slowly” overlooks the latter’s later steep decline. Martial arts fluctuates rather than simply decreasing. Report the key series more precisely and make the overview distinguish the stable martial arts figures from the contrasting trends in the other activities.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details about 2000, 2010 and the later years. This gives the reader some sense of chronology, and linking expressions such as “However,” “Moreover” and “Furthermore” show attempts to connect ideas. Nevertheless, progression is not consistently clear: the third paragraph groups several activities and years together, while phrases such as “in others two year” make the time reference difficult to follow. Some connectors are used inaccurately or mechanically, and “on the other hand” does not establish a clear contrast in its sentence. Organise the details into clearer comparisons—for example, one paragraph for the consistently high film-club and fluctuating martial-arts figures, and another for the rising and falling activities—and use explicit year references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing trends, including “increased,” “decreased,” “decline” and “participants,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning hard to interpret. Expressions such as “led on the top,” “stood at same position,” “shot up slowly” and “on the opposites site” are not natural ways to describe graph data. “Arts” is also too vague when referring to martial arts. Aim for precise, conventional trend language and name each activity consistently. Reusing a small set of accurate terms such as “remained stable,” “rose sharply,” “fell steadily” and “stood at” would make comparisons clearer and more appropriate for an academic report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses joined with “while” and “however,” but control is limited and errors occur frequently. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “The line graph indicate” and “Table tennis and Amateur dramatics was stood”; verb forms are also faulty in “has lead,” “was went up” and “was fell.” Articles and sentence construction need attention, as in “stood at same position,” while capitalisation is inconsistent in “In 2005.” These errors sometimes make relationships between activities and trends difficult to understand. Practise forming accurate past-tense descriptions with a clear subject and verb, such as “Table tennis rose to 54 participants,” and check agreement, articles and punctuation before submitting. A few reliable complex sentences are preferable to longer sentences with several errors.
