Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several relevant patterns, including the film club’s leading position, the sharp rise in table tennis, and the decline in amateur dramatics. However, some key details are inaccurate or unclear: the film club falls by about four participants from 2000 to 2010, not five, and musical performances begin in 2010 rather than 2005. The claim that table tennis and amateur dramatics “intersect at one point” is not supported by the figures. The overview also says film club was highest and musical performances lowest without clearly summarising the major change: table tennis rises to second place by 2020 while amateur dramatics falls to the lowest level. Select the main trends more precisely and support them with accurate comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an opening, a body, and a concluding overview, and it attempts to group information by activity. However, progression is difficult to follow because several trends are compressed into long, loosely connected sentences. For example, the sentence beginning “The Amateur dramatics had less than 30” moves abruptly from that series to table tennis, while “Moreover” introduces points that largely repeat earlier statements. Connectors such as “Firstly” and “Overall” provide some structure, but punctuation and unclear references weaken the links between ideas. Organise the report into a clear overview followed by comparisons of the main rising, falling, and relatively stable activities, using shorter sentences and explicit links.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “fluctuations,” “participants,” “increased,” and “droped dramatically,” and the reader can generally identify the activities being discussed. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “get rocket hight,” “get fall,” and “highest peoples.” Spelling errors, including “catergories,” “material arts,” and “stoped,” also reduce precision. Use standard trend language consistently: for example, say that a figure “rose sharply,” “declined,” or “remained below 40.” Check the activity label carefully as well: the chart says “martial arts,” not “material arts.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and longer sentences, but grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between trends hard to understand. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “The given line graph represent” and “The film club get increase.” Verb forms are also often incorrect, as in “had highest peoples” and “get fall by 5.” Articles and sentence boundaries need attention, particularly in “The musical performances get started in 2005. and gain hight by 2010.” Capitalisation after commas and full stops is inconsistent, and some sentences join several ideas without clear punctuation. Practise describing past data with consistent past-tense forms, such as “rose,” “fell,” and “remained,” and build accurate sentences before combining them.
